We are passionate about commercial, contract and various areas of the law and are eager to learn more about international commercial arbitration and trade law. Chidera Okoro

Chidera Okoro is a 3rd year student at the University of Lagos’s Bachelor of Laws Program. She is a director of research at the Alternative Dispute Resolution society of the University of Lagos. She is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators. She has also interned at the Multi-door Courthouse Section of the High Court of Lagos. She is a passionate debater and mootie. Chidera was a member of the champion team of the FDI moot African regionals 2022. The team was not only the first Nigerian school to win the moot but also the first West African school to ever win the FDI African Regionals. She was also a member of Lagos Team 1, who won the Alfred Deakin moot competition 2022. The team was equally the first African and Nigerian team to ever win the competition. Chidera is a member of the University of Lagos Vis Moot team which will participate in the upcoming 30th Vis Moot to be held in Vienna in April, 2023. She has a great interest in international commercial and legal practices as well the various ADR mechanisms and as such, intends to use this competition as an opportunity to gain more knowledge and experience in relation to her interests and hopefully, bring pride to her country and university. Chidera is eagerly preparing for the competition.  

Betty Elikwu

Betty Elikwu is a 2nd year law student of the University of Lagos. She is an active member of the university’s alternative dispute resolution society. She is passionate about arbitration and has taken to mooting as a go-to extracurricular activity. She was a key part of the team which emerged as African champions in the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Moot Competition, 2022 and is looking to further her knowledge and experience with the Vis Moot in 2023.

Okikenna Osele

Okikenna Osele is a 4th year law Undergraduate in the University of Lagos. Okikenna is deeply interested in commerce, the evolution of economies as well as the dynamics of commercial dispute resolution. As an Undergraduate, Okikenna explores his passion for commercial dispute resolution through participation in various moots and was a member of the winning team in the 2022 Deakin arbitration moot competition. He looks forward to participating in more competitions as well as applying himself in the training of future arbitration enthusiasts in Africa.

Ikani Miracle Ele-Ojo

Ikani Miracle Ele-ojo is a final year student at the University of Lagos Bachelor of Laws program. Miracle has various interests in commercial and corporate law including taxation, insurance, intellectual property as well as international arbitration. Miracle participated virtually in the 2022 edition of the Vis Moot, gathering valuable experience. She is currently one of the top of her class and has gained internship experience from a number of law firms in Lagos, Nigeria. She is also an associate editor at the University of Lagos Law Review. 

Moyinoluwa Adewale

Moyinoluwa Adewale is a 4th year law student of the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos. She is a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society, UNILAG and has taken keen interest in Arbitration. She is experienced in ADR-related competitions, participating in the Bucerious Mediation Competition in 2022, and winning the Alfred Deakin International Commercial Arbitration Moot competition later in the year. She is enthusiastic about the on-going 30th Vis moot Arbitration competition which will be a platform to learn even more on Arbitration and would like to further explore Arbitration as an Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanism in different sectors.
