Who We Are

Cavendish University was founded in 2008 in Kampala, Uganda. They joined the Africa in the Moot initiative for the 2022 Willem C. Vis Moot which represented their first time participating in the Moot.

Meet the Team

Marilyn Kirabo Abiine

Marilyn Kirabo Abiine is 20 years old and is about to head into her 4th semester studying law at Cavendish university, Uganda. She is an identical triplet and is excited to be on the same team as her sisters. This is her very first arbitration moot competition. She is looking forward to gaining valuable and practical experience in international commercial arbitration. She further hopes to improve her speaking and writing skills. Besides this, the Vis Moot is a great opportunity for her to get in touch with students from all around the world. She enjoys listening to music and dancing in her free time.

 

Mariam Kirabo Abiine

Mariam is currently a student of law in her 3rd semester at Cavendish University Uganda. It is her first time participating in international arbitration moots and she hopes to gain invaluable skills for her future legal career. In her free time, Marian loves reading novels, dancing and watching movies. She is also proud to be participating in the Vis Moot with her identical triplet sisters.

 

Marysent Kihembo Kirabo Abiine

Marysent Kihembo is currently in her 3rd semester pursuing her Bachelor of Laws at Cavendish University Uganda. In 2022/2023 she will be participating in international moot competitions for the first time, and she is excited to gain experience in arbitration law by participating in the Vis Moot. Marysent became passionate about the law after watching legal movies which created that passion for the law. She is ready to challenge herself and she hopes that the Vis Moot is the beginning of her career. She also enjoys watching movies, music and meeting friends.

Sunday Sharif

Sunday Sharif is a student at Cavendish University Law School in his 2nd semester. He is looking forward to preparing for the real legal world by participating in Vis Moot. This experience provides a preview of the litigation-side of legal practice, so he will learn valuable skills before he enters the workplace. Sunday also enjoys reading, watching movies and writing during his free time.

 

John Birungi

John Birungi is pursuing his Bachelor of Laws at Cavendish University Uganda and he is currently in his 3rd Semester. The 2022/2023 Vis Moot will be his first time participating. He is passionate to learn more from Vis Moot experience.

 

Bundi Julius Nyandieka

Julius Bundi Nyandieka is pursuing his Bachelor of Laws at Cavendish University Uganda and he is currently in his 2nd semester. He is impressed to participate in the Vis Moot so that he can develop his mooting skills. Julius also enjoys travelling and reading novels.

 

Lukowe Winfred

Winfred Lukowe is a 2nd year LLB student at Cavendish University Uganda. Participating in the 30th Vis Moot has opened her eyes to so many possibilities in international commercial arbitration law that would be beneficial to the Ugandan judicial system and for her professional practice after her studies. Winfred is very excited to be part of the Cavendish team for 2022/2023. She looks forward to meeting and sharing ideas with other students and experts from around the world. In her free time, Winfred loves reading, listening to music, dance, traveling, swimming, watching Formula 1 motorsport and having a good laugh watching comedy shows.

 

Nasijje Gloria

Gloria Nasijje is 3rd year law student at Cavendish University Uganda. Gloria is interested in arbitration. She hopes that taking part in the Vis Moot will enhance her mooting skills and also give her exposure to arbitration. She is a a committed and enthusiastic person.
