Africa in the Moot
Empowering the next generation of African lawyers and promoting international commercial arbitration in Africa.
Promoting education and innovation
Africa in the Moot NFP is a volunteer-based, non-profit organisation founded in 2021. We support African law students to participate in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition in Vienna and Vis East competition in Hong Kong. Throughout the Vis Moot journey, we empower students by providing logistical and financial support, education, training, access to resources, and exposure to an international network in the field of arbitration. By giving a platform to talented future lawyers, we are building capacity and promoting diversity and inclusion of Africans in the Vis Moot and in the international arbitration community.
Who we are
We are a group of Willem C. Vis Moot alumni from all around the world aiming to unlock the potential of international commercial arbitration in Africa. We are collaborating with the shared mission of creating opportunities for African students on the international stage and the advancement of international arbitration for Africa.
